In several of my conversations within the last couple of weeks, I recognized a common theme: people are going through hardships – real and difficult circumstances. While the scope of the trials varies individually, this season appears to have brought with it a heaviness that makes it difficult for people to carry on. There is a stretching and a pressing that can bring discouragement and exhaustion because the labor is burdensome. Hope is a lofty ideal, and help seems out of touch. If this is what you are facing and how you feel, I want to share with you a word the Lord put on my heart:
PERSEVERE.
In other words – keep moving forward!
The Lord has not abandoned you, even if all you hear is silence. Continue to be obedient to God rather than to your feelings that contradict the truth of God’s goodness. Release yourself from unrealistic expectations and situations that are beyond your control. Instead, trust in the One who is in control – God Almighty, El Shaddai. He has you in the palm of His hands and is taking care of you this very moment. Do not worry about the future – for He is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland (Isaiah 43:19).
May you receive this word as it brings refreshment to your soul; Persevere through the fire – as you will come out the other side unscathed.
Blessings!
Nathan

And we will come out without the smell of smoke on us! Hallelujah!
